Especially one on touring Charlevoix. Charlevoix is between Quebec City and Baie Comeau, and so I have been a regular visitor through that area ever since my first trip by car as a 10 year old kid in 1959. It remains one of my top three places to go by motorcycle.

Touring Charlevoix

The author visited when the weather was foggy and wet, a scary proposition. It is much better, though still a bit scary even when sunny, even without a trailer behind the bike. When I travel alone, I do try to "keep up with the traffic" as they say, and that's when the BMW K1100LT or the Honda CBX could finally be put to some use.

There is a nice map at the bottom of the page, that only hints a little at the mountainous nature of the region.Lost Motorcyclisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08873504561959138792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156536327610779049.post-64955936859161378382011-03-16T10:06:45.904-04:002011-03-16T10:06:45.904-04:00As you observe, the 'function' that many m...As you observe, the 'function' that many manufacturers 'follow' in selecting 'form' is ... the least expensive solution from a manufacturing standpoint (which accounts for those less-than-optimal OEM tires, rear shocks, &c.)

But, speaking of OEM mufflers (or, rather, non-OEM mufflers ;-) there's an article in this month's issue of Motorcycle Mojo entitled Noise, You and the Law, discussing the motorcycle noise abatement legislation introduced in jurisdictions such as Caledon, pointing out the problems with the J2825 standard - not to mention the fact that the legislation in Caledon is rather discriminatory - motorcycles only are subject to this noise law!Madeyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02593933575568389288noreply@blogger.com
