Why can't those TV producers come up with something original - for a change?

The 'official' website bills Sons of Anarchy as, '... an adrenalized drama with darkly comedic undertones that explores a notorious outlaw motorcycle club's (MC) desire to protect its livelihood while ensuring that their simple, sheltered town of Charming, California remains exactly that, Charming.'

The biker gang thing has been done to death - in fact, it had already almost been done to death by the late 1960s when Easy Rider was released ... as a refreshing change from the 'adrenalized dramas' of the preceding decade and a half.

Easy Rider was a landmark, with its use of contemporary music and cultural themes, just as the 'Sixties' counterculture was turning sour and the old hypocrisies were regaining their dominance in American culture (pace Nixon).

But, as far as your observation, '... I noticed a biker go by with a large patch on the back of his jacket with the words "Sons of Anarchy"' - why does that put me in mind of the coonskin cap fad of the 1960s?Madeyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02593933575568389288noreply@blogger.com
