The 4...You certainly are a glutton for punishment!<br /><br />The 401 is the busiest highway in North America and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highway_401_%28Ontario%29#Route_description" rel="nofollow">one of the busiest</a> in the world.<br /><br />With the Canadian climate (<a href="http://tris.trb.org/view.aspx?id=849147" rel="nofollow">freeze-thaw cycles</a>) and the constant pounding of heavy vehicles (JIT manufacturing), the 401 road surface tends to be less than optimal.<br /><br />However, with 401 AADT (annual average daily traffic) counts in the order of half a million, it makes me wonder if half the people who work in Mississauga live in Oshawa, and most of the people who live in Oakville work in Pickering. <br /><br />Even with a population approaching <a href="http://www.toronto.ca/toronto_facts/diversity.htm" rel="nofollow">6 million</a> for the GTA, a significant proportion of those folks would have to get out there on the 401 to achieve those AADT levels.<br /><br />I've lost count, but you've blogged at least three 401 trips in the past week ... a glutton for punishment, indeed <b>;-)</b>Madeyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02593933575568389288noreply@blogger.com
